Howard Dean Slams Michelle Bachmann Saying Women Will Never Vote For Romney

In a surprising show of arrogance former Vermont Governor Howard Dean went after Republican congresswoman Michelle Bachmann on Sunday. Dean seemed to be significantly offended by the idea that Bachmann said women will turn out to vote for Mitt ROmney calling the prospect “perfectly ridiculous.”

Howard Dean said on Face the Nation when asked about Bachmann’s claim that women would turn out to vote for Romney,

“Frankly, Michele Bachmann has never had much command of the facts and that shows us exactly why. Women are terrified of what the Republicans are talking about. They’re talking about basically stripping away their ability to have insurance pay for their birth control pills. [The Romney] candidacy is a shipwreck and for Michele Bachmann to go on there and claim that women are going to vote for Mitt Romney is perfectly ridiculous.”

Earlier on the CBS News program, Bachmann talked about how the Democrats were trying to concoct a “War on Women from the Republicans in order to scare women.

Bachmann said,

“The myth is there is a Republican war on women. There’s not a Republican war on women. That’s coming from the Obama reelection team.”

Bachmann, who ran for the Republican nomination herself until she suspended her campaign in January said that women are interested in the economy as well as reproductive freedom. She said that will turn into votes for Romney.

She said,

“Mitt Romney is competent in spades,”

Democrats have made a War on Women a central these in their campaign for the control of the government in November.
