Arrest Update: Former ‘RHOBH’ Star Kim Richards Was Homeless, Living Out Of Her Car?

An arrest update has surfaced regarding the recent incarceration of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kim Richards. Although Richards has yet to address shoplifting allegations against her, an August 4 report by TMZ offers an arrest update, and sheds some light on why Richards may have attempted to steal from a Target store in Van Nuys, California.

On Tuesday, the site revealed the following arrest update.

“Kim Richards was living out of her car when she was arrested Sunday for shoplifting at Target… Kim had been house-hopping since leaving rehab last month. She quickly ran out of friends and relatives who would extend themselves, and has been homeless ever since.”

TMZ claimed Richards had been “self-medicating” prior to her arrest, but so far, it remains unclear whether or not she was drunk or under the influence of drugs at the time of her arrest. The site did say, however, that Richards’ Target visit was “truly bizarre.” Not only is the reality star accused of stealing from the retailer, she reportedly attempted to leave the store with “more than 50 items in her shopping cart.”

In addition to the arrest update, TMZ claimed Richards family was unsure of what to do for her. While they surely want to help the troubled reality star, they simply don’t know what else to do to get her help.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Richards’ arrest was first reported on Monday. At the time, Entertainment Tonight spoke with her ex-husband, Monty Brinson, who did not believe the charges against Richards were legitimate.

“I couldn’t imagine Kim stealing or shoplifting anything. She is a giver. I am in complete shock. Guaranteed this must be some kind of mistake, and the facts will come out soon. She was arrested for shoplifting toys in a cart, but this was a clear misunderstanding. This was not alcohol or drug related.”

Brinson seemingly shared a message regarding the incident on Instagram, as well, although his post came prior to news of Richards’ arrest update.

“Day is over, night has come. Today is gone, what’s done is done. Embrace your dreams through the night, tomorrow comes a whole new light. Pray for everybody, I believe everyone has a good heart and I know I have a big heart, just want happiness for everyone #quote #saying #family #life #love #heart #family #children #dreams #happiness.”

Kim Richards has yet to offer her own arrest update to fans.
