Manchester United Transfer Rumors: Angel Di Maria Out, Zlatan Ibrahimovic In?

It has been a summer of cryptic messages for Manchester United fans ever since Louis Van Gaal’s proclamation of a “mystery signing” before the end of the transfer window. Manchester United is now strongly linked with Paris Saint Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic after the 33-year-old stated that his next move would be surprising.

“Where I go next, it will be a surprise, a very big surprise.”

Zlatan’s comment came after scoring against Manchester United in a 2-0 victory in Chicago.

Zlatan has been strongly linked with a move away from Paris Saint Germain since the start of the summer however, the Swede has dismissed rumors of any transfer in the near future and has reiterated that he is happy in the French capital.

“I have another year on my contract with PSG and I am very happy. Things are getting better. We are a strong team, we can do much more than we have been doing so at the moment but I am very happy.”

Angel Di Maria could be joining the big Swede by the end of the week. According to reports, Manchester United and Paris Saint Germain have concluded negotiations for the Argentine winger with a fee close to £44 million. The transfer could leave Manchester United making a £16 million loss after breaking the British transfer record last summer.

With Di Maria’s impending departure, Manchester United will now look to tie up a deal for Barcelona’s Pedro. The Spanish forward is said to have come to a verbal agreement with Manchester United and could wrap up the transfer as soon as the start of next week, just in time for the upcoming game against Tottenham Hotspurs on August 8.

However, Thomas Müller looks odds on to stay at Bayern Munich, as the club CEO, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, has confirmed that Müller is close to extending his existing contract at the club. Müller had previously attracted interest from Manchester United this summer.

“Thomas Müller is not for sale. I have the feeling that Thomas will never leave FC Bayern. He feels great here. When Thomas retires one day, we’d like to integrate him into the club, if he wants to do. We have already accounted for it last year, at that time he had contract for another three years. Ahead of time, we prolonged it for another two years, and increased his salary.”

Will Zlatan Ibrahimovic become a Manchester United player in the near future?
