‘RHOC’ Star Meghan King Edmonds Explains Why She Left Her Step-Daughter In Orange County Just Two Days After The Death Of Her Mother

RHOC star Meghan King Edmonds has faced backlash online after leaving her 17-year-old step-daughter, Haley Edmonds, in Orange County, California, as she traveled to New York City to promote The Real Housewives of Orange County on Watch What Happens Live, and in a number of interviews with press.

On Tuesday, after sharing a photo of herself eating a cheeseburger, and bragging about her awesome metabolism, a fan called out the RHOC star for failing to have her priorities straight.

“I’m concerned with her leaving her step daughter immediately after her mom died (2 days) to go to baseball games, clubs, watch what happens live, etc.. Of course I will be attacked for my opinion, that’s fine and yes [by the way] I have been in her situation and I stayed with the teen for weeks.”

The RHOC star’s step-daughter has been spoken of on The Real Housewives of Orange County, and seen on the show a number of times since season 10 began. And, according to Edmonds, they are extremely close, so it’s not too surprising to see the shock in many of her fans. During Monday night’s episode, Edmonds claimed she actually quit her job so that she could be in Orange County to help care for her daughter, so leaving two days after the child’s mother’s death is almost unfathomable — regardless of any pre-arranged plans.

In response to the fan, the RHOC star explained, “[Haley] had an open invitation to go to stl with her dad, Washington with her grandma or NYC with me. She chose to stay in OC with her sister and stepdad.”

While it is, of course, important for Haley to be where she feels most comfortable, that doesn’t necessarily explain why the RHOC star left her. Sure, Edmonds clearly had to be in the Big Apple to film Watch What Happens Live, but surely Bravo would have understood if she was unable to make it.

Either way, it was the RHOC star’s choice to stay or go, and she went, and while there, she gave public details about Haley’s mother’s upcoming funeral. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Edmonds spoke to People Magazine on Thursday, proclaiming LeAnn’s funeral would be held this Sunday, followed by a fun celebration next month.

“We’re going to do a Sunday Funday theme because LeAnn loved drinking champagne with mimosas, so we’re going to do that at the end of August, and it will be a celebration of her life.”
