Self-Replicating Alien Probe On Mars? Levitating Sphere Photographed On Mars By NASA's Curiosity Rover

A NASA Curiosity rover image of the Martian surface reveals a curious anomaly that has sparked discussion in online UFO and Mars anomaly forums.

The image, captured on Mars by the Curiosity rover's Mast Camera (Mastcam) near Mount Sharp, on April 10, 2015, shows what appears to be a levitating sphere, or more accurately, a UFO sphere, floating only a few inches above the Martian surface.

Evidence that the orb-shaped object was actually floating above the Martian surface comes according to Scot Waring, editor of UFO Sightings Daily, from the shadow it casts on the ground.

The UFO, discovered by anomaly hunters Paranormal Crucible, has sparked speculation and debate.

In the YouTube video description, Paranormal Crucible speculates that the UFO sphere could be a robotic probe sent by an alien civilization to explore our solar system.

"A possible extraterrestrial probe has been caught on the red planet by the Mars Curiosity Rover. The object which was snapped near mount sharp has a clear spherical design and also appears to be levitating above the Martian surface."
"It would also be logical to assume considering our own interest in this mysterious planet that an advanced alien species could also be sending out robotic probes to various planets throughout the universe."

In a paper published in the International Journal of Astrobiology, titled "Slingshot Dynamics for Self Replicating Probes and the Effect on Exploration Timescales," the mathematicians concluded from their calculations that technologically advanced aliens races could easily use the gravitational slingshot technique around stars to catapult Voyager-sized probes to travel 100 times faster.

NASA employed the technique, which involved using the gravity of planets, to speed up Voyager 1 and 2, launched in the mid-1970s.

According to the mathematicians, it is conceivable that technologically-advanced aliens would use the slingshot maneuver, taking advantage of the gravitational field of stars, to speed up interstellar probes exploring planets across galaxies for signs of life.

Using the slingshot technique, aliens from a distant star-system could design self-replicating probes that could reach and explore our galaxy. The probes could self-replicate by using interstellar dust, gas, and other naturally occurring material.

The mathematicians pointed out that our solar system, including our planet, could be swarming with "self-replicating" alien probes that are so advanced in design that we lack the capability to detect them.

Such speculation by mainstream scholars leads UFOlogists to suggest that the levitating sphere Curiosity rover allegedly photographed on Mars was a self-replicating alien probe exploring our solar system for signs of life.

The probe looks like a piece of rock. But as the mathematicians argued, this could be because the probe self-replicated using naturally occurring material.

Such probes could exist undetected on our planet. Multiple reports of sightings of UFO orbs and other "cloaked" UFO spheres could be "self-replicating" probes exploring our planet, having found life on it.

UFO Sightings Daily's Scot Waring seems to suggest just that, pointing out that the technology behind the levitating sphere could be ancient and very advanced.

"This is ancient technology, and its still floating above the surface today. No one knows how old it is, but we do know that it came from a very technologically advanced species. It has, the ultimate battery. Something NASA doesn't want to investigate, or at least, doesn't want you to find out about. You can tell it is hovering, because its lit top is more in focus that the things in the background."

The blog also reported that NASA's Curiosity rover photographed a moving white sphere (see image below) levitating just above the surface of the planet, much like a probe investigating the terrain.

The movement of the object was detected from the different positions of the orb on the Martian surface in eight images taken by the rover.
