Bobbi Kristina Brown Murdered? Nick Gordon May Already Be Planning His Defense As Police Investigation Heats Up

Bobbi Kristina Brown may have been murdered, with family members pointing fingers at her live-in boyfriend and police in Georgia reportedly investigating the case long before the daughter of Whitney Houston actually died.

But as the investigation heats up, there are indications that Bobbi’s boyfriend Nick Gordon may already be planning an aggressive defense against the allegations.

Brown died on Sunday after several months in a medically induced coma, ABC News reported. She had been found unresponsive in a bathtub in January and was never able to recover. At the end of June she was moved to hospice care, and she died on Sunday while surrounded by family.

“She is finally at peace in the arms of God,” the Houston family said in a statement. “We want to thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.”

There are already indications that police are already focusing in on Nick Gordon and his friend Max Lomas, who first found Bobbi unresponsive. Sources have said that Gordon was abusive, and that Bobbi had many bruises on her body at the time she fell into a coma.

Gordon may be prepared to face the allegations, Billboard noted. Earlier this month he hired Jose Baez, the defense attorney who helped notorious mom Casey Anthony beat her murder charges.

There may be good reason for the hire. Some family members have been very vocal in their belief that Bobbi Kristina Brown was murdered, and have pointed fingers at Nick Gordon. In March, Bobbi’s aunt Leolah Brown lashed out against Dr. Phil when he staged an on-air intervention for Gordon. Brown claimed that the television personality should not be giving a platform to Gordon, who she said was under investigation for murder.

“Dr. Phil, With all due respect, Nick Gordon is under investigation for the attempted murder of my niece Bobby Kristina Brown,” Leolah Brown wrote (via Us Weekly).

“We have strong evidence of foul play,” she added. “Until this investigation is completed by law enforcement, I would ask that you or anyone else not provide this individual a platform to spin this situation to his benefit.”

There have already been some very specific allegations leveled at Nick Gordon in the past few weeks. Bobbi’s court-appointed conservator, Bedelia Hargrove, filed a lawsuit against Gordon claiming that he controlled every aspect of Bobbi’s life, even answering her phone and requiring her to get his approval before making appointments.

Entertainment Tonight had more details:

The lawsuit also accuses Gordon of domestic violence, including, “punching [Bobbi Kristina] in the face, knocking out a front tooth, and dragging her upstairs by her hair.”

Perhaps most alarmingly, the lawsuit claims that Bobbi Kristina set up a meeting with an unnamed person on Jan. 31 to discuss that Gordon was “not the man she thought he was,” and was later found unresponsive in a bathtub on Jan. 31, “face down, with her mouth swollen and another tooth knocked out.” But even after Bobbi Kristina was placed in a medically induced coma, the suit claims Gordon stole more than $11,000 from her bank account.

According to the lawsuit, Gordon had been transferring Bobbi Kristina’s money into an account solely controlled by him without her authorization. He also previously “threatened one of the trustees [of Bobbi Kristina’s trust assets] with guns and other violent weapons,” resulting in a restraining order, the lawsuit alleges.

Sources say police will likely determine after the autopsy whether Bobbi Kristina Brown was murdered, and that they could move in quickly on Nick Gordon if it turns out her death was caused by foul play.
