‘The X-Files’ Poses The Ultimate Question In The Latest Teaser [Video]

At one time, the idea of The X-Files returning in any capacity might have seemed like little more than a pipe dream, and even when Gillian Anderson began her own Twitter campaign to encourage fans of The X-Files to bring the show back, there seemed little chance that it might come to fruition. Yet, here we are looking at the certainty that The X-Files will be back on the air at Fox, even if it is a limited run.

As the weeks pass and The X-Files team films the revival episodes, fans feel both frustration and excitement as they glean new details about The X-Files from whatever sources the internet delivers to their screens. Perhaps there can be nothing more enticing than to finally see and hear the first exchange between Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Anderson), as is seen in the newest trailer for The X-Files.

“Are you ready for this Scully?”

“I don’t know there’s a choice.”

Admittedly, it’s not much, particularly after so much waiting and dreaming on the behalf of millions of fans of The X-Files, but it does give us the first real taste of David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson back in character. For that alone, this teaser goes a long way in reassuring X-Files fans that they will be given a faithful and authentic revival.

Other recent news finally confirmed that fan favorites, The Lone Gunmen, will also be resurrected for The X-Files revival series — in more ways than one. Dean Haglund (Langley), Tom Braidwood (Frohike), and Bruce Harwood (Byers) were killed off in the final season of The X-Files, but some fans say that the trio known as The Lone Gunmen were already brought back to the land of the living in The X-Files comic books.

In either case, The Lone Gunmen will return for a one-episode story in The X-Files revival.

The X-Files revival will be bringing in some fresh faces as well. It was announced early last week that Robbie Amell will guest star as “smart and smooth” Agent Miller, while Lauren Ambrose will play “sharp and confident” Agent Einstein.

Kumail Nanjiani of HBO’s Silicon Valley has also been added to the line-up of performers scheduled to guest star on The X-Files revival. Nanjiani confesses to being a long-time fan of The X-Files and couldn’t wait to share the exciting news with his Twitter followers.

“I got to be in an ep of my favorite show (X Files) written & directed by my favorite writer (Darin Morgan.). And this script is wonderful.”

The X-Files revival is scheduled for a Sunday, January 24, 2016 premiere on Fox.
