Kate Hudson Sheer, Racy Gown Stuns As Leonardo DiCaprio's Gala Raises $40 Million To Protect Planet [Video]

Kate Hudson rocked a sheer frock when she attended Leonardo DiCaprio's 2nd Annual Saint-Tropez Gala. The actress proved she's polished at going from day to night after basking in a bikini earlier in the day before slipping into Kate's cleverly just-sheer-enough dress for the gala, reported Entertainment Tonight.

Hudson bared her body in a stark white-and-black two-piece. Then she went for the sheer look to show her support for DiCaprio's foundation. The organization focuses on raising funds to preserve wilderness habitats throughout the world.

Kate posed prettily with other celebrities who also attended the gala. In addition to the attention that Hudson earned for that sheer skirt and cutout top, Irina Shayk, Orlando Bloom, Michelle Rodriguez and Nina Dobrev supported Leonardo's gala, reported the Huffington Post.

The actress enjoyed the event so much that she shared her happiness on social media.

Leonardo's gala was successful for more than bringing in celebrities like Kate. In addition to providing Hudson and others the opportunity to show off their sleek physiques in sheer and strapless style, DiCaprio's gala raised more than $40 million, reported Us Weekly.

Helping Leonardo save and preserve wildlife and the environment, philanthropic celebrities contributed at the gala, which included an auction to raise more money.

"We've decimated our forests, wild lands, polluted and over-fished our rivers and oceans, all the key ecosystems that not only serve as a home to our planet's biodiversity, but also make life here for us possible," declared DiCaprio. "I'm incredibly proud to be part of a night that will allow us to do so much to protect the planet."

The gala made significantly more than 2014's event, which brought in $25 million.

Kate's mother Goldie Hawn also attended, as did Orlando Bloom, Sylvester Stallone, Prince Albert II of Monaco and Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York.

Sir Elton John sang "Tiny Dancer," and his stunning performance was complemented with entertainment from John Legend, who arrived with Chrissy Teigen.

"Such an honor to share the stage with the incredibly talented John Legend," shared Sir Elton on social media. "And a joy to raise money to help save our planet for the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation."

As the Inquisitr reported, supermodel Chrissy and singer John currently are on vacation. And according to Teigen's tempting foodie-focused fantasy photos, it's food that has taken center stage on their Naples holiday.

The couple plowed through four pizzas as Chrissy revealed that the menu completed an item on her bucket list.
