Randall Smith: Navy Officer Slain In Chattanooga Sings ‘Frozen’ With Daughters In Viral Video Filmed Days Before Shooting

Last week, four Marines and a United States Navy officer were all shot and killed in a mass shooting in Chattanooga, Tennessee. That tragedy has since been the main news story, and for many different reasons. Now, a video has started going viral and it shows U.S. Navy Petty Office 2nd Class Randall Smith singing “Let It Go” from Disney’s Frozen with his young daughters, and it was filmed just two days before his death.

In the video, the hit song from Disney’s Frozen is playing as Smith’s three young children sit in the back dancing and singing. The camera then pans up front to Smith driving and he is singing right along with them.

On Thursday, Smith was shot and killed along with four Marines who have been identified as Staff Sergeant David Wyatt, Sergeant Thomas Sullivan, Sergeant Carson Holmquist, and Lance Corporal Skip Wells. The gunman, who was shot and killed by police, was identified as 24-year-old Mohammod Youssof Abdulazeez.

Heavy did report that Smith and his wife Angie were married on January 14, 2011 and had three daughters. All three girls are reportedly 6-years-old or younger. Smith was a devoted father and he took to Facebook on Father’s Day to show just that.

The 26-year-old Smith joined the Navy back in November of 2010, and he was a Logistics Specialist 2nd Class. After three years on a big deck amphib, he had just recently re-enlisted on shore duty, according to the Navy Times.

Even though he had been shot multiple times on Thursday, Smith underwent multiple surgeries and fought until 2 a.m. on Saturday when he passed away. Extensive damage to his liver and colon, along with other severe injuries, caused his passing.

News of his passing due to the Chattanooga shootings had spread via text message, Facebook, and the national news. Smith was expected to come home for Labor Day to visit family and friends in Ohio, but now, they are all just sharing stories and remembering when he was with them.

The recording of Navy officer Randall Smith singing a Frozen song with his girls is one of the last moments they ever had with their father, and luckily, it was caught on video. Now, the viral video is being seen by people around the entire world.
