Nicki Minaj’s VMAs Rant Has Sent ‘Anaconda’ Soaring — And Taylor Swift Responds? Bad Blood?

Nicki Minaj’s VMA nominations weren’t exactly what she — and many others — thought they’d be. After taking to Twitter and calling out MTV, “Anaconda” views skyrocketed…but Taylor Swift responds?

If you don’t know of Nicki Minaj’s song “Anaconda,” and its success, you may not be too abreast of recent hip hop music. As a remake of Sir Mix-A-Lot’s “Baby Got Back (I Like Big Butts)” classic, Minaj excelled with the idea to put a modern-day twist to the song. While sampling the track, Nicki chose Sir Mix-A-Lot’s vamp, “My ‘anaconda’ don’t want none unless you got buns, Hun.”

Playing off that idea, Minaj’s song re-introduced this generation to the early concept.

Well, though Nicki’s music was nominated for Best Female Video, she felt it should’ve gotten Video of the Year. As Inquisitr reports in a previous article, Minaj let her feelings express via Twitter. However, since that article, she has continued expressing.

However, some of the things she said has possibly rubbed Taylor Swift the wrong way. So she tagged Minaj in a tweet.

And Nicki responded as follows.

And another person chimed in with support, to which she also replied.

What do you think about Nicki Minaj‘s VMAs rant? Do you feel her word holds weight, or was she just letting off steam?
