Chris Young Denies Having Anything To Do With Miranda Lambert And Blake Shelton’s Divorce

Chris Young found himself in an uncomfortable spot as news of Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton’s divorce rocked the country music world this week. The superstar couple have ended their four-year marriage after being plagued by cheating and breakup rumors — which they both adamantly denied — for years.

Of course, as news of the divorce spread, so did new rumors as to the reason for the seemingly sudden split. The fact that Blake Shelton was the one to file sparked speculation that Miranda was unfaithful.

Chris Young ended up right in the middle of the divorce drama and is quickly trying to clear his name. Several reports have accused Miranda Lambert of possibly cheating on Blake Shelton with Young, who has toured with her in the past.

The Nashville Star alum addressed the matter on his Twitter account Tuesday, saying that the rumor is absolutely untrue. Chris Young went on to explain he is friends with both Blake and Miranda, and he would never do anything to betray their friendship.

“I don’t normally address gossip but in this case I will. My name has been mentioned as a contributing factor in Blake and Miranda’s divorce. That is totally FALSE. They are both my friends and I would not betray that friendship. Just wanted to clear that up. Love you guys – CY.”

TMZ reports sources told them Chris Young was not the reason Blake Shelton filed for divorce. Their sources allege Blake believed Miranda was unfaithful with “another guy, who is not a country singer.”

Although Miranda Lambert was just talking to Country Living magazine in May about building a new home with Blake Shelton, the pair released a joint statement to the Associated Press Monday announcing their plan to “move forward separately.”

“This is not the future we envisioned. And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.”

According to People, the Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton divorce is amicable, however the small town of Tishomingo, Oklahoma, where they call home, is “in a state of shock.” Publisher and managing editor of the Johnston County Capital-Democrat Ray Lokey told the publication, “We love them both to pieces. We’re so grateful to both of them, especially Miranda. She’s turned our local economy around.”

Miranda Lambert owns two businesses in Tishomingo, The Pink Pistol shop and The Ladysmith bed and breakfast. Sources tell People both will remain open because Lambert and Shelton don’t want to see the local economy in suffer in any way.
