Evan Peters: ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Star Discusses Quicksilver Scene

Actor Evan Peters opened up about his return to the X-Men movie franchise during a recent interview.

In an interview with MTV News earlier this week, Evan talked about the excitement and anticipation revolving around his character, Quicksilver.

More importantly, fans and critics are eagerly awaiting the August 2016 premiere of X-Men: Apocalypse in order to see what director Bryan Singer has planned for Peters’ character.

During the phone interview, Peters talked about the major burden that faced Bryan Singer and the crew working behind-the-scenes to top the jaw-dropping Quicksilver scene from the 2014 summer blockbuster film, X-Men: Days of Future Past.

“Well, yeah, it’s always difficult to try to top something like that. The special effects guys, man, they absolutely nailed that and did a fantastic job on it.”

Evan Peters further explained that Bryan Singer and his supporting crew were able to definitely meet fans’ expectations with Quicksilver’s new scene in X-Men: Apocalypse.

It apparently gets even better than that, though. According to Evan, the new scene actually went above and beyond those expectations as well.

“This year we’re working on something that’s bigger and better, keeping the same elements that worked, then adding a few new ones. I’m really excited to see it all cut together, and I’m excited for people to see it, too. I think it’s going to be a really fun sequence in what is going to be a massive X-Men movie. The scope of it — with the end of the world and Apocalypse coming — is going to be a very large, epic ‘X-Men’ film.”

Even though Quicksilver was not featured in X-Men: Days of Future Past for very long, he helped to deliver one of the most stunning scenes of the entire movie.

With the world around him seeming to move in slow motion, Quicksilver was able to save the lives of Magneto, Professor X, and Wolverine when it appeared as if they were outnumbered and outgunned.

Fortunately, Evan Peters will reportedly have a little more camera time in X-Men: Apocalypse – including the “bigger” and “better” scene that has X-Men fans and critics drooling. Since he had a chance to spend more time with the cast this time around, Evan claims that they are “all this big family that’s stuck on this ginormous ship that is sailing slowly along.”
