Johnny Depp Visits Children’s Hospital As Captain Jack Sparrow [Video]
While dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow, Johnny Depp surprised the kids of Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital with a joyful, well-welcomed appearance.
In Brisbane, Australia, Depp and co-star Stephen Graham entertained the children’s hospital in a special “meet and greet.” It was put together in collaboration with the Children’s Hospital Foundation and Juiced TV.
According to Variety — while taking a break from shooting the next installment of Pirates of the Caribbean — Johnny and his co-star spent more than three hours at the facility with kids and their families.
While his character is known to be a bit of a drunkard, Johnny Depp stayed in his role for the majority of his visitation.
As reports Boston Herald, Depp posed a photo question to one of the kids within the hospital.
“Now, if there’s other people in it, why do you call it a selfie?”
Of course, as seen from the video above, many kids, parents, and staff members enjoyed Johnny’s company — taking several opportunities to jump into a photo or two.
As aforementioned, the Pirates of the Caribbean star has been on location filming another sequel to the franchise. This one is called Dead Men Tell No Tales.
Depp’s movie is set to feature some of the old, familiar faces — as in the earlier renditions. As Internet Movie Database (IMDb) reports, the film is being shot, mostly, in Queensland, Australia.
Just as a preview into the storyline, the site mentions it as follows.
“Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar, escape from the Devil’s Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea… including him. Captain Jack’s only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas.”
Though one location is filmed in the United States, that spot is Los Angeles, California. Concerning the release date, the movie is scheduled to debut in the U.S. on July 7, 2017.
