‘Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Season 3 Spoilers: A Time Jump And More Teased
Marvel fans have a new film in theaters this weekend, but many are waiting for the return of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to ABC this fall. Some spoilers about the upcoming season have been released.
Entertainment Weekly shared a small spoiler on Friday, but it is large in the grand scheme of things. Their new weekly spoiler report contained information about where Coulson and his gang will pick up the action when the show returns this fall.
“The third season picks up a few months after the end of season 2. Word on the street is Coulson will meet a woman who’s more than his match. But is she friend or foe?”
The end of season 2 did see a big moment. Simmons was sucked into the gel hidden in the cargo hold of the ship. This happened right after Fitz asked her out on a date. According to a previous Inquisitr report, Elizabeth Henstridge will appear in season 3, and the actress offered her own teaser about what happened to her character.
“Part of me was thinking, if this is some sort of Inhuman thing then maybe this is like the mist, and it’s some sort of gel, and maybe I’ll have superpowers, but I don’t think I will. I think I’m somewhere. I think it transports me somewhere.”
The Inhuman thing, as Henstridge called it, will play a large role in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 3. Skye will lead that charge, but the events during the season finale do set up the drama and action for the upcoming season.
Jeph Loeb spoke with Spoiler TV about the series at Comic-Con, and he shared some new details about the action ahead.
“The key for this year really rests on the word ‘Inhuman.’ For someone like Phil Coulson who has lost a hand and has alien DNA inside of him and came back from the dead, he’s starting to question his own humanity – literally, like, ‘Am I okay inside of me?’ Then you get someone like Ward who is now on a very dark road – even darker than before – and willing to do anything in order to get, as he refers to it, closure. So there’s a kind of inhuman quality to that. There are people out there who are suddenly waking up and they’re enhanced, they’re Inhuman, and they don’t know what to do about it. And S.H.I.E.L.D. needs to get there and help them with that decision.”
Spoiler TV also revealed that Skye’s new superhero name will be Quake. That is Daisy Johnson’s name from the comics. She will lead a group called the Secret Warriors, also from the comics. Fans will also see Lash, a new villain, join the Inhumans.
The Marvel Universe is immensely popular, and fans are ready to see what happens next to Coulson and his group. The end of season 2 left many unanswered questions that fans want the answers to.
