Lindsey Vonn stunned in scarlet at the ESPY Awards. Lindsey wowed fashion watchers by wearing a daringly high slit in a scarlet gown that whirled and twirled around the skier’s fabulously fit figure, reported Wonderwall.
Vonn, who is Tiger Wood’s ex-girlfriend, showed the grace that comes from skiing by doing Angelina Jolie-style poses in her scarlet frock.
Nominated for Best Comeback Athlete and Best Female Athlete, Lindsey was one of the three ESPY fashion standouts.
The winner for many fashion watchers seemed to be Caitlyn Jenner, who was dressed to impress those who questioned whether she should receive the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage, reported the New York Daily News.
Hollywood stylist Jen Rade consulted Donatella Versace to design Caitlyn’s silk gown.
“Donatella [Versace] was over the moon — just so honored,” revealed Rade. “They said, ‘You must have been reading our minds. We have been trying to figure out who to get in touch with to talk about making something for Cait.”
After receiving sketches from Versace, Caitlyn and Rade worked together to create the ideal gown. Jenner longed for a dress that wove in the essence of Lauren Bacall and the highlights of traditional Hollywood style. Rade also has designed and guided Angelina Jolie, Kim Kardashian, and Zosia Mamet to rock the red carpet.
“We wanted to do something classic, chic and sophisticated. Cait is beautiful: She has great hair, gorgeous bone structure, legs for days. So I just wanted it to be about her and not let anything take away from that.”
Tailors from Milan joined Jenner in Los Angeles to ensure that the fit of the wrap dress, from the train to the waistline ruching, was impeccable. With long sleeves flowing and an ivory hue flattering Caitlyn’s face, the dress represented the fulfillment of Jenner’s dreams.
“It’s not a photo shoot,” explained Rade. “This is the first time for Cait live, not as a model in a magazine or something.”
The ivory hue was specifically chosen for Caitlyn, added Rade.
“There are about 8,000 different colors of ivory, bone or cream — it’s really about what works best on your skin tone. We [placed] different swatches across her shoulder, near her face so we could see which was a nice, warm tone. They custom-dyed two bolts in case they had to re-do something, and then got to work!”
Jenner wore $3,450 Beladora emerald earrings and a diamond bracelet, plus a Stuart Weitzman clutch and heels. The size 13 shoes were also custom-designed for Caitlyn, revealed Rade.
“[The shoes] were critical. I went right to Stuart Weitzman. He’s such a master craftsman,” said the celebrity fashion expert. “They sent us, like, 15 cards of leathers, and we laid the ivory next to it and together Cait and I chose the leather. And off they went!”
And as Lindsey rocked out in scarlet and Caitlyn awed in ivory, it was up to Britney Spears to add the final ESPY fashion touch in stunning silver showgirl style.
Britney chose a silver mini-dress with fringe that flaunted her gorgeous gams, as the Inquisitr reported.
In addition to appearing on the ESPY Awards red carpet, Spears presented the award for Best Female Athlete. The stunning 33-year-old singer sauntered up to the stage in her silver dress and joined Houston Texas linebacker J.J. Watt to honor MMA fighter Ronda Rousey.
