MTV Personality Maci Bookout Claims Her ‘Teen Mom OG’ Salary Is Nothing To Brag About

MTV personality Maci Bookout isn’t as wealthy as people have been led to believe. Although she stars on one of the most popular reality shows of all time, and one of the highest rated for MTV, Bookout claims she’s nothing more than the average mom living in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

In a just-released excerpt of her book, via a July 16 report by Radar Online, the MTV personality revealed she and the Teen Mom OG cast don’t make nearly what fans would assume.

“Reality TV can make you very famous, but you basically get the s–t end of the deal: Everyone knows your name and talks about you, but there’s no red-carpet prestige or glamorous piles of money. Once you become a so-called reality TV star, people immediately think you’re a high-end celebrity and you travel the world and have a mansion and so much money and all these other things they associate with having your face on television. The fact is, my real life isn’t that much different from what it would have been without MTV.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, the MTV personality also spoke of her ex-boyfriend, Ryan Edwards, in Bulletproof. During an interview with The Ashley’s Reality Roundup earlier this week, Bookout admitted she was nervous about what Edwards would think about her revelations regarding their relationship.

“I am anxious for it to be out there, just because Ryan and I are in a better place now, and the book really goes into detail about our relationship and how things went downhill. It talks about the struggles that we had, and how I felt about certain things he had been doing. It also talks about what I had been doing wrong, so I’m anxious for him to hear about it. But at the same time, he lived it too. It’s almost his life written in a book too.”

The MTV personality went on to reveal Edwards was preparing for the worst, when it came to her book release, but wouldn’t be surprised by anything that was mentioned. As fans will recall, Bookout and Edwards have often been seen at odds over their custody agreement with son Bentley, and Edwards isn’t always painted as the best father.

In other news, Bookout will reportedly return to Teen Mom OG for a sixth season in the coming months. According to an OK! Magazine report earlier this month, she and the rest of the cast, including Amber Portwood, Catelynn Lowell and Farrah Abraham, have already begun filming.

MTV personality Maci Bookout’s book, Bulletproof, will be released on July 21.
