Josh Murray Says Ben Higgins Is Next ‘Bachelor’ Star

Unfortunately for Josh Murray’s fans, they won’t be seeing him as the next star of The Bachelor. Josh himself has predicted that another man will hand out the red roses. On Monday, as the latest The Bachelorette episode aired, Josh posted a tweet that said that Ben Higgins, whom Kaitlyn Bristowe sent home, will have the chance to fall in love again at the Bachelor mansion.

Josh pointed out the pattern of third runner-ups becoming the franchise’s next star. He added that he hopes that Ben finds a good woman when he’s the Bachelor.

On Tuesday morning, E! News reported that, according to multiple sources, the show’s producers have chosen Ben to be the next star. While Ben has not signed a contract yet, one source told the website that it’s “pretty much a lock.” The sources also said that Kaitlyn’s runner-up, to be revealed in two weeks, was also in heavy consideration for the spot, but the producers ultimately decided that Ben would pull in more viewers.

The former Bachelorette, Andi Dorfman, was the third runner-up for Juan Pablo Galavis. Andi’s third runner-up, Chris Soules, who came in behind Nick Viall and Josh Murray, then became the next Bachelor. Chris’ third runner-up is the current Bachelorette Kaitlyn. Sources told E! News that the third runner-ups usually are the most popular choice for the top spot because the second runner-ups receive a bit of a bad edit so that viewers will be more happy with the Bachelor/Bachelorette’s final choice by the end of the season.

After Kaitlyn Bristowe sent Ben Higgins home during the rose ceremony, Nick Viall and Shawn Booth were the only two men left standing. While Nick and Shawn battled it out, in particular on the last two episodes when they verbally argued with one another, with Shawn doing most of the yelling, Ben stayed out of the drama and focused on Kaitlyn. As the Inquisitr reported, as the scene of him being eliminated from the competition aired, Ben posted a tweet that continued to show his class and maturity.

While the producers want Ben, it seems that he’s still a bit undecided about taking the top spot, at least he was at the Men Tell All filming last weekend. During an interview with E! News at the taping of the special, Ben said that he believes in the process.

“Doing this experience, you come in skeptical and you walk out of the experience, I did at least, realizing it’s a very real thing. True emotions do evolve and it does give you the opportunity to meet somebody that you could potentially spend the rest of your life with.”

Yet Ben Higgins also expressed reservations about leaving his day-to-day life again for The Bachelor.

“I had a great experience on the show, from beginning to end. Like I’ve said it, I have a good life, though. I have a job that is steady, I have a house in Denver and I have a great family…I think if the offer was on the table, there’d be things I’d have to consider and seriously consider those things.”
