‘Real Housewives Of New York City’ Cast News: Bethenny Frankel Returns, Others Fired

The Real Housewives of New York City is nearing the end of its seventh season, and already, casting news regarding Season 8 has hit the web. On July 14, a source told Radar Online of the latest casting rumors, which include a Bethenny Frankel return and a Dorinda Medley firing.

“Bethenny has already been asked to come back, and she accepted. It was in her contract that if Bravo made the offer, that she would accept. The fact is, Bethenny loves being on television. Producers are hoping next season Bethenny will let her guard down even more and fight with the other ladies.”

Medley, however, who came aboard The Real Housewives of New York City for Season 7 as a friend of Ramona Singer, will reportedly not be asked back because of her lackluster and sometimes “boring” story line. The same goes for Kristin Taekman, who just didn’t bring much to the Bravo reality series.

As for Frankel’s Real Housewives of New York City Season 8 salary, Radar Online‘s source claimed she would like to up her paycheck from $1 million to $2 million.

“Bethenny will probably want close to $2 million, while Bravo would offer no more than $1.5 million. [Real Housewives of New York City] just isn’t as popular as the Real Housewives of Atlanta, and Bethenny just doesn’t have the clout she once did.”

According to the report, filming on The Real Housewives of New York City is expected to begin this fall, and for the next installment, producers are searching for “two new sexy ladies that will add to the dynamic of the current group. They need to shake things up.”

Frankel returned to The Real Housewives of New York City for Season 7 after taking a three-season hiatus. As fans of the series will recall, Frankel was one of the original housewives of the series, but left the show to pursue her own spinoff three years later. The spinoff, Bethenny Ever After, aired on Bravo for three seasons.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, the cast of The Real Housewives of New York City recently filmed the Season 7 reunion, and after the event, Frankel spoke out. On Twitter, the Skinnygirl mogul shared the following message with fans.

The Real Housewives of New York City Season 7 airs on Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
