Ansbach Drive-By Shooting: Gunman Opens Fire In Germany, Leaving ‘Several’ People Dead [Breaking]

At least two people are reported dead after an incident of drive-by shooting in Germany. According to a fresh report from Sky News, the shooting incident was reported from the town of Ansbach in Southern Germany. BBC News reports that several shots were fired from a car – allegedly a Mercedes convertible. Local media house Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) reported that the dead included a cyclist as well as an 82-year-old woman.

Police officials from Bavaria, the German state in which the shooting incident happened, have asked citizens to stay indoors and have issued a warning asking people not to approach the gunman as he is armed and dangerous.

Meanwhile, it is now reported that the elderly woman was the first victim and that the cyclist was shot a little later, down the road. The gunman also opened fire at a farmer and another motorist who were both threatened. However, both of them managed to escape unhurt.

While the identity and the background of the attacker remains unclear, initial reports from broadcaster N24 say that the man is acting alone. A massive search is underway to locate the gunman now, with the local police force using helicopters to track the attacker.

Officials from the local police department will hold a press conference later today where they are expected to divulge more information pertaining to this latest drive-by shooting incident.

People have in the meantime taken to twitter to talk about the latest attack in Europe which comes just weeks after the multiple terror attacks in Europe left several dead, The Independent UK reports.
