FIFA bans Chuck Blazer for life from soccer for misconduct was the ruling handed down today by the ethics committee. Chuck Blazer has been banned from taking part in any kind of football-related activity at the national or international level by FIFA.

As reported recently by the Inquisitr, former FIFA executive Chuck Blazer spent the last two years amassing mountains of evidence against FIFA that was used to indict high-ranking officials. Blazer also attracted attention for living an odd lifestyle of gluttony, weighing in at 400 pounds, and often seen riding around on a scooter.

In the press release directly from the FIFA Ethics Committee, Chuck Blazer was called out for a variety of infractions.

“Mr Blazer committed many and various acts of misconduct continuously and repeatedly during his time as an official in different high-ranking and influential positions at FIFA and CONCACAF. In his positions as a football official, he was a key player in schemes involving the offer, acceptance, payment and receipt of undisclosed and illegal payments, bribes and kickbacks as well as other money-making schemes. He was found guilty of violations of art. 13 (General rules of conduct), art. 15 (Loyalty), art. 16 (Confidentiality), art. 18 (Duty of disclosure, cooperation and reporting), art. 19 (Conflicts of interest), art. 20 (Offering and accepting gifts and other benefits) and art. 21 (Bribery and corruption) of the FIFA Code of Ethics.”

At his time with FIFA, Chuck Blazer, secretly pleaded guilty in November 2013, agreeing to provide “truthful, complete, and accurate information” to prosecutors within instruction of law enforcement agents. Amongst the charges he acknowledged were bribery, money laundering, and tax evasion, but he escaped punishment by becoming an FBI informant.

Before FIFA banned Blazer, it was made public that he was battling rectal cancer and had been in and out of the hospital. He is currently awaiting sentencing and has already forfeited $1.9 million. As part of his plea deal, he has promised to pay more money when he is sentenced. It is not known whether or not he will be sentenced to jail time.

BBC News recently reported that Chuck Blazer had maintained a blog through his time before the FIFA ban, highlighting his jet set lifestyle and lavish spending.
