Ed Sheeran Reveals He Will Be Starring In A 'Dark Medieval' Show

Ed Sheeran is setting his music career aside to join the small screen. Sheeran hasn't kept it a secret that he would love to join the cast of Game of Thrones, and with recent comments made by Sheeran and rumors from Season 6 of Game of Thrones, maybe the singer's dream is finally coming true.

Sheeran talked to Express and spilled the details for his upcoming role.

"I have an acting job coming out after July. It's a medieval TV show and it's really, really dark. It's gruesome and it's going to be fine because my friend wrote it."
Sheeran kept quiet on the big deals though, not elaborating on what dark medieval show he will be acting in. Sheeran adds as follows.
"He [the friend] had a musician in his last show and I [Sheeran] said 'Oh did he audition for that?' and he said 'No, but I just thought he would be good in it' So I said, 'Can you put me in your show next?' I can't say too much about it because the pilot just got picked up, which is good, but it's a TV show."
Ed Sheeran also revealed to the Toronto Sun that he almost gave up music for acting. He explained.
"There was a part I auditioned for on an ITV show and it was music and acting. And I thought this would be fun and I got down to the final six. I said to myself if I got this, no more music just acting and if I didn't, no more acting, just music and I didn't. Then I just did music and it all went well."
On top of Sheeran's small screen debut, Sheeran announced that he will be dropping a movie that follows him on the road and stage, similar to the likes of One Direction and Katy Perry. Sheeran made the announcement and said as follows.
"We are doing something for the Wembley Stadium gigs. It will be a documentary. It's going to go out in cinemas in the UK and Europe. But it's just going to be a one-off thing."
Sheeran didn't comment if his documentary will be coming to American theaters, but with his overall popularity, and the possible popularity of Sheeran's movie, it will most likely also make screens in the United States for thousands of fan girls to cry over.

Sheeran's television show will shoot throughout the summer and premiere at a later time. It seems like Game of Thrones is not the dark show he is starring in, but a spin-off would also be cool.
