Pet Food Recall: Stella & Chewy’s Recall Frozen And Freeze Dried Cat And Dog Food

On July 2, 2015, a pet food recall from Stella & Chewy’s was issued for chicken patties. The chicken patties are a dog food made by Stella & Chewy’s, and the lot number for the recalled batch is 111-15 with a use-by date of April 23, 2016. This batch of dog food tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes. As of today, the pet food recall was expanded to include a variety of products for both dogs and cats. Stella & Chewy’s has released a full list of all the recalled products.

The expanded pet food recall by Stella & Chewy’s is voluntary. The pet company is working closely with the FDA in order to determine exactly what went wrong. Pet owners who have any of the products listed for recall should stop feeding them to their pets immediately. Pet owners are also asked to return the recalled product to the store they purchased the item from and to contact Stella & Chewy’s.

Symptoms of Listeria in pets are similar to the symptoms that humans get when exposed to the bacteria. If you suspect your dog or cat may have Listeria, then contact your veterinarian.
