Margot Robbie Celebrates Birthday In Harley Quinn Costume: Shouldn’t That Cake Be A Pie?
Margot Robbie recently got to take a break from filming Suicide Squad to celebrate her 25th birthday, and she was presented with a pretty amazing Harley Quinn cake.
According to Screenrant, The Wolf of Wall Street star was still wearing her colorful Harley Quinn costume — dip-dyed pigtails and all — when she chowed down on her birthday dessert. Unfortunately, her cake was almost too pretty to eat — it was covered with sugary recreations of comic books featuring Harley Quinn on their covers. Margot Robbie made sure to thank her “squad” for the super-special treat.

The Suicide Squad star also received a bunch of brightly-colored balloons for her birthday. Luckily, there have been no reports that Joker method actor Jared Leto tried to prank her by filling them up with Smylex and popping them with razor-sharp playing cards.

If Margot Robbie’s castmates really wanted to help her get into character, they should have presented her with a giant cream pie instead of a cake. Fans of Batman: The Animated Series, the ’90s cartoon where Harley Quinn was born, will likely recall the scene below. It was shockingly sexual for a kids’ show, and it also included an unhealthy dose of domestic abuse.
If Jared Leto got a birthday gift for Margot Robbie, it was probably something really weird. As the Inquisitr previously reported, the Joker actor already gave Margot one very odd present a few weeks ago — he gifted her with a love letter and a “beautiful” live rat at the beginning of Suicide Squad‘s production. The rat was originally named “Splinter,” but he underwent a moniker change when he was re-homed. According to Collider, the lucky rat got a kiss goodbye from Margot’s Suicide Squad costar Cara Delevingne before heading off to his new Toronto home with Guillermo del Toro. The Pacific Rim director must not be a big Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan, because he decided to rename the vermin “Venustiano.”

Instead of running around with a rat, Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn will carry a baseball bat. According to Comicbook, the bat is Harley’s weapon of choice in the Arkham Asylum games. She better be skilled at wielding it, because she definitely doesn’t have the element of surprise going for her. Joker’s number one fangirl will find it hard to hide from her enemies in a skimpy costume that includes a pair of super-tiny sequined shorts, a “Daddy’s ‘Lil Monster” T-shirt, a “Puddin” choker, and high heel sneakers with some serious spikes.

Margot’s character will likely inspire one of the most popular Halloween costumes of the year, but Suicide Squad won’t hit theaters until next August. Unfortunately, Margot Robbie still hasn’t revealed whether she’ll try to replicate cartoon Harley’s ridiculously high-pitched, heavy Brooklyn accent.
