Meet The ‘Swinging’ Couple Who Really Like To Live On The Edge

The antics of a “swinging” couple who live so close to the edge they’re practically at the point of no return have got everyone in Brazil a little hot under the collar.

Leonardo Edson Pereira and his girlfriend Victoria Medeiros Nader really like to take risks. They’re the sort of couple who are not merely content to “hang around” and let the action find them. No sir! This particular pair of adrenaline addicted thrill seeking daredevils go looking for danger in all the wrong places. Like the edge of a 3,000-foot cliff for example.

The Express reports that Leonard and his Medeiros could be the craziest tourists in history.

Any old fool with a Facebook account can court controversy by getting butt naked on a sacred Malaysian mountain and make headlines overnight, but it takes bit more character to make name for yourself by hanging casually off an almost 3,000-foot drop straight into the ocean with no support.

The photos of 23-year-old Leonardro and 18-year-old Victoria clinging onto the edge of Brazil’s Pedra de Gavea with just one hand while the bright blue sea and the sprawl of Rio de Janeiro lies in eternal wait below, are extremely impressive to say the least.

It’s all very well holding your selfie stick aloft and striking a pose in such situations, but to keep your cool when at any one time you’re seconds away from slipping to a certain and messy death, make for a cracking profile pic.

For Leonardo, living on the edge is a way of life that the Rio de Janeiro native loves.

“I love living on the edge! I know people think it’s dangerous and crazy but it makes me feel alive. It is really high and I do just hang on using my arm strength. I have to trust myself not to fall.”

Hanging about in precarious places is just like anything else, insists Leonardo. Practice makes perfect.

“The first time I did it I was really scared. I didn’t hang off, I just sat on the rock. The second time I was more relaxed and hung over the edge. Once I did cut my arm having to pull myself up. That was the only time I’ve been worried.”
