NBA Finals: Stephen Curry Passes LeBron James For Most Popular NBA Jersey

After winning both the NBA Finals and NBA MVP, Stephen Curry has become hotter than any other player in the association. Now Curry’s jersey has become the most popular in the NBA, passing NBA Finals opponent, LeBron James.

Everybody seems to love Curry, and his Golden State Warriors jersey becoming the most popular shows that immensely. Based on overall sales from NBA Store between April and June, Curry has overtaken LeBron James, deservedly so.

Here is a list of the 15 most popular NBA jerseys:

1. Stephen Curry, GSW
2. LeBron James, CLE
3. Derrick Rose, CHI
4. Kyrie Irving, CLE
5. Klay Thompson, GSW
6. Kobe Bryant, LAL
7. James Harden, HOU
8. Blake Griffin, LAC
9. Tim Duncan, SAS
10. Chris Paul, LAC
11. Kevin Durant, OKC
12. Kawhi Leonard, SAS
13. Russell Westbrook, OKC
14. Matthew Dellavedova, CLE
15. Draymond Green, GSW

NBA has documented Curry’s rapid rise in popularity:

The latest figures cap Curry’s incredible year. He led the Warriors to a franchise-record 67 wins – plus 16 more in the playoffs – and their first championship in 40 years.

Curry was the leading vote-getter for the All-Star teams, won the 3-point contest, and took home NBA MVP honors. The Warriors beat James and the injury-depleted Cavaliers in six games in the finals.

And unlike James, who is in his second stint in Cleveland after four years with Miami, Curry has never changed jerseys – which usually leads to more sales. Curry has been with the Warriors since they drafted him seventh overall in 2009.

The Warriors NBA Finals victory has obviously made the rest of the team quite popular as Klay Thompson is rated 5th and Draymond Green 15th join Stephen Curry on this list. The craziest part of this list is Matthew Dellavedova being rated at all. Just a few short months ago, no one even knew who he was, but now he is practically a household name (that no one can pronounce). However, at the same time it makes sense since his play in the NBA Finals had the whole league buzzing.

The Warriors overall also sold the most team merchandise during the playoffs.

Here is a list of the teams that sold the most merchandise during that span:

1. Golden State Warriors
2. Cleveland Cavaliers
3. Chicago Bulls
4. Los Angeles Lakers
5. San Antonio Spurs
6. Houston Rockets
7. Los Angeles Clippers
8. Oklahoma City Thunder
9. Boston Celtics
10. Miami Heat

NBA MVP, NBA Finals victory, three-point records, and now the number one selling jersey in the NBA, there should not be any doubt that this past season has belonged to Stephen Curry.
