Kail Lowry’s marriage is a hot topic during the upcoming sixth season of Teen Mom 2 .
During the recently released trailer for the series, Kail Lowry and her husband, Javi Marroquin, are seen at war, and at one point, she is seen telling a friend they are on the “brink of divorce.”
Since the trailer aired, reports have continued to swirl in regard to the couple’s possible split, and during an interview with Wetpaint Entertainment on June 29, Kail Lowry opened up about her and Marroquin’s marital issues.
“I think a lot of it has to do with our maturity. We obviously were not being the most mature when we were throwing around the word ‘divorce,’ and I feel like at the time we were just trying to hurt each other, more than we were actually considering divorce. We did consider it, but at the end of the day, we worked out all of our problems. Most of the stuff were things we could have communicated better on, and then it probably wouldn’t have gotten to where it was.”
Kail Lowry married Marroquin in September 2012, after splitting with her oldest son’s father, Jo Rivera. One year after tying the knot, Kail Lowry and Marroquin welcomed their first child, which they admitted had an impact on their relationship.
After experiencing hardships within their marriage, Kail Lowry claimed she and Marroquin began attending marriage counseling, but unfortunately, it wasn’t much help.
“We did go to counseling for a while, but we decided it just wasn’t for us. It wasn’t working so we stopped going. I think all couples and everybody in a marriage argues sometimes. I think where we’re at right now is pretty normal and we just handle it.”
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Marroquin recently spoke of his marriage, as well, sharing an Instagram message with fans earlier this week. Following reports of an impending divorce between himself and Kail Lowry, Marroquin insisted he and his wife were still together .
“You guys are really gonna see a different side of us this season that I’m not looking forward to. There was a point in our marriage that was extremely difficult. Makes me emotional to think about how we were. I’m not gonna give too much away, but just want yall to know it’s worth it to keep fighting. Seriously. Ps it’s behind us babe. We made it.”
