The First Look At Kristen Wiig’s Jumpsuit For ‘Ghostbusters’ Reboot

The Ghostbusters reboot is already shooting and the director just tweeted a picture of what Kristen Wiig and the rest of the team will be wearing.

You might notice that the new jumpsuits are almost exactly the same as the originals from 1984, except these have stylish orange strips on the arm. They also have name tags for Kristen Wiig and her fellow Ghostbusters.

According to the Wrap, director Paul Feig chose Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon as the all-girl Ghostbusters team. Like the original movies, the reboot is drawing heavily from the Saturday Night Live talent pool.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Feig’s announcement that he would direct the Ghostbusters reboot with an all-woman cast led to heated speculation on who would bust ghosts the best.

Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy were early favorites. Emma Stone also had public support, but she declined a role in the film, explaining that a “franchise is a big commitment.”

The Twitter image is the first look at the jumpsuits, but some other photos have leaked out from filming despite tight security measures – including shots of Wiig and McCarthy on set.

Screen Crush also got ahold of the basic plot summary for the new Ghostbusters film.

“Wiig and McCarthy play a pair of unheralded authors who write a book positing that ghosts are real. Flash forward a few years and Wiig lands a prestigious teaching position at Columbia U. Which is pretty sweet, until her book resurfaces and she is laughed out of academia.

Wiig reunites with McCarthy and the other two proton pack-packing phantom wranglers, and she gets some sweet revenge when ghosts invade Manhattan and she and her team have to save the world.”

Chris Hemsworth will have a part in the film as well, playing the receptionist. In the original Ghostbusters films, the unenthusiastic secretary Janine Melnitz was played by Annie Potts. Whether Hemsworth and Feig will maintain the same deadpan, do-nothing secretary act is anyone’s guess.

As for a guest cameo from the original cast, Paul Feig explained “I know they are all happy about it but who knows, I’d love it but we’re figuring it out. We want to make it our own but also give nods to the fans of the movies.”

Ghostbusters starring Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy will premiere July 22, 2016.
