Bernie Sanders Stamps His Authority On The 2016 Presidential Election As Supporters Of Hillary Clinton Resort To Giving Away Tickets

Senator Bernie Sanders has gone from plucky underdog to Hillary Clinton’s main rival in the 2016 Presidential Election. While Hillary Clinton is still the favorite to lead the Democratic Party in the 2016 Presidential Election, Bernie Sanders has declared that he plans to win the New Hampshire and Iowa primaries before getting to the White House.

“We are going to win New Hampshire. We’re going to win Iowa, and I think we’re going to win the Democratic nomination, and I think we’re going to win the presidency.”

With Senator Elizabeth Warren decided against running, Bernie Sanders has emerged as the Liberals favorite in the 2016 Presidential election. His position on issues such as same-sex marriage and lifting the minimum wage has made him popular on the left. The self-proclaimed socialist has not been afraid to go against the big corporations.

Sanders told ABC News‘ George Stephanopoulos on This Week that, “The American people are sick and tired of seeing the disappearance of the great middle class of this country. They’re sick and tired of working longer hours for low wages while at the same time 99 percent of all new income generated is going to the top one percent.”

Throughout his political career, Bernie Sanders has tailored his career targeting workers union and the middle class. However, despite his record on civil rights issues Bernie Sanders is still failing to garner support from the African-American community.

“I have a long history in fighting for civil rights. I understand that many people in the African-American community may not understand that. Given the disparity that we’re seeing in income and wealth in this country, it applies even more to the African-American community and to the Hispanic community. And what we are going to do is make a major outreach effort to those communities, let people know my background, let people know my record, and I think we’re going to do just fine in those communities.”

Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton’s supporters resorted to giving away tickets at an event the former Secretary of State is headlining on Friday night. The event is The Democratic Party of Virginia annual Jefferson-Jackson dinner, an event that is held for raising money for Virginia Democrats. With Virginia being a swing state, it is clearly not a good sign that Clinton has failed to attract a full house for the event.

Hillary Clinton is still maintaining a strong lead over Senator Sanders however, Clinton will not want a repeat of her 2008 Presidential campaign when she was a heavy favorite to beat then Senator Barack Obama.
