Shia LaBeouf’s Freestyle Rap Video Might Surprise You

Shia LaBeouf may have been of one of the few Disney Channel stars to manage a bankable career following the end of his breakout series, but it’s debatable whether or not Shia has been able to keep that momentum afloat. Next to LaBeouf, even Miley Cyrus might seem relatively calm.

The experimental side that Shia has been revealing to the public over the last few years has left many wondering how much of what LaBeouf presents is an act and what is truly bizarre behavior. A new video in which Shia freestyle raps for two-and-a-half minutes about everything from Transformers to Tupac might not even seem that odd when compared to his decision to show up to the red carpet with a paper bag over his head reading, “I’m Not Famous Anymore.” After his reputation began to spiral out of control, LaBeouf even put on a performance art show where he invited guests to come observe him face-to-face — an endeavor that ended in one woman sexually assaulting Shia.

Whether or not you think the freestlyle rap is a return to form for LaBeouf is up to you. While the video doesn’t have many defenders, some at least preferred it to another oft-mocked rapper — Iggy Azalea.
