Bristol Palin Responds To Pregnancy Critics By Saying She’s Still Pro-Life

Bristol Palin doesn’t care if you think that she’s a hypocrite for getting pregnant out of wedlock after getting paid to preach about abstinence. Instead of admitting that her haters have a point, Sarah Palin’s daughter is defiantly trying to spin her unwanted pregnancy to push her “pro-life” message.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Bristol Palin recently announced that she’s pregnant with her second child. Bristol shared her baby news in an alarmingly gloomy blog post in which she labeled her pregnancy a “huge disappointment,” and she wrote that she doesn’t “want any lectures” about how badly she screwed up by getting knocked up again.

According to Gossip Cop, Bristol couldn’t avoid getting lectured, and it looks like she’s having a hard time ignoring her critics. In a recent Instagram post, she gave the world an update on how she’s dealing with all the negativity.

As you can see, Bristol Palin made sure to let everyone know that she’s still anti-abortion — she’s going to see her pregnancy through no matter how miserable it makes her feel thinking about raising a child that she obviously did not want. However, you’ll notice that she didn’t say anything about abstinence.

In 2011, Bristol made $262,500 as an “abstinence ambassador” for the Candie’s Foundation. According to Us Weekly, the Candie’s Foundation recently revealed that it still stands by its choice to represent the company, even though Bristol Palin has given birth out of wedlock twice.

Bristol Palin hasn’t revealed the identity of her second child’s father, but last month she and former U.S. Marine Dakota Meyer mysteriously called off their wedding just days before they were set to walk down the aisle. Bristol’s former fiance has neither confirmed nor denied that the baby is his, but there’s been speculation that one of Dakota Meyer’s recent Facebook rants was a response to Bristol’s pregnancy announcement.

In a June 28 Facebook post, Dakota Meyer wrote that important events taking place around the world were being overshadowed by “the dog and pony show being put on here domestically by some politicians and mass media.” However, many of his Facebook followers seem to think that he was referring to the massive media coverage of the Supreme Court’s ruling on gay marriage, not the reports on Bristol’s pregnancy.

At least Bristol Palin can take comfort in knowing that she’s not alone. According to Yahoo! Health, unintended pregnancies like hers are actually on the rise in America. More and more 20-somethings are finding themselves pregnant with little surprises because they’re having more sex, cohabiting with partners, and using “magical thinking” to convince themselves that their odds of getting pregnant aren’t very high. The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy actually found that “four in 10 young adults believe that it doesn’t matter whether they use birth control or not—when it’s their time to get pregnant, it will happen.” However, more young women are starting to embrace long-term birth control methods, so the numbers will likely decline.

Perhaps Bristol Palin needs to consider a career as a spokeswoman for IUDs.
