Ben Affleck is reportedly in therapy with Jennifer Garner, trying to save his "troubled" marriage. According to Mail Online, the couple has decided to see a marriage counselor in hopes of working out their differences. After being married for 10 years, sources say that things have become strained, and the two are trying to stay together for the sake of their three children, Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3.
And, evidently, this isn't something new.
"They are trying to work it out for the kids' sake, but things are not all peaches and cream with them. [Jennifer and Ben] have been in therapy for years. They each go separately, and they also go together. When things are rough, they go more often," explained a source.
If Ben Affleck is going to therapy with his wife, many would agree that's a good decision. So many Hollywood marriages tend to crumble for various reasons, but seeing two people dedicated to working things out is super refreshing. And aside from marital strife, sources say that Ben has been dealing with his own issues. Not only does he supposedly have a gambling problem, but sources say that he's been drinking quite a bit too.
Gossip indicates that the couple has had some pretty serious blowouts, and Ben has been known to stay at Hotel Bel-Air from time to time to get away.
"He stays there whenever he and Jen are having problems. There's no need to sugarcoat it. Ben is drinking again," the source said.
According to NewsOXY, the rumors have been circulating for quite some time, and despite any and all denial from Jen and Ben, it sounds like there's a lot more going on between them than they are ready to admit.
Ben Affleck therapy news hasn't surprised many people, and if the rumors are true, that doesn't necessarily mean that Ben and Jen are done. Plenty of people believe that going to counseling is healthy, and doesn't always indicate trouble.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the couple was recently photographed together, and things looked more than fine between them. It's certainly not easy (Ben himself referred to his marriage as "work" during his 2013 Oscar's speech), but his wife recently said that the two "figure it out" together.
"Ben is super busy and I'm super happy for him. I chose to stay home this year and just said, 'Go for it babe. Do it all. Do Gone Girl, do Batman, do The Accountant. Do everything.' I want that for him and I'm happy for him. And he says the same to me. Except that he's really busy. But he understands that when I really have to do it, we figure it out."And that's what's most important, right?
