Donald Trump recently announced that he will be seeking the Republican nomination for President in 2016, and now he is saying he wants Oprah Winfrey to be his running mate.
“I think Oprah would be great. I’d love to have Oprah,” Trump told ABC News . “I think we’d win easily, actually.”
In 1999, during an interview with Larry King, Trump also made reference to Winfrey as a possible running mate when he was considering running for president as a member of the Reform Party.
“She’s great, she’s talented, she’s a friend of mine,” Trump said to ABC’s George Stephanopoulos. “She’s a good person. I’ve been on her show. In fact, I was on her show her last week, she said, ‘Could I be on her show with the whole family?’ ” Trump said. “I like Oprah. I mean, is that supposed to be a bad thing? I don’t think so.”
Donald Trump made his announcement from Trump Tower in New York City on Tuesday, June 16, using the campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again.”
“Our country needs a truly great leader, and we need a truly great leader now. Ladies and gentlemen, I am officially running for president of the United States, and we are going to make our country great again.”

Trump is said to be worth a whopping $9 billion, and isn’t afraid to use his money. “I don’t need anybody’s money. I’m using my own money … I’m really rich,” he told his supporters , according to the Washington Post .
“I’ve had great success. My statements are phenomenal,” he told Fox Business Network earlier this month. “I get my financial statements very early, actually. I put tremendous amounts of people to work, I’ve negotiated against the best in the world, including countries, and I’ve come out on top.”
