Selena Gomez Announces Pantene Partnership: Teases Music Video, New Album To Go Deep On Justin Bieber

Selena Gomez has announced she is partnering with the hair product brand, Pantene. It’s not the only big news to come from SelGo.

Over the past week, the actress-singer teased stills from her unreleased music video for her upcoming song “Good For You” amid revelations that she will address her relationship with former boyfriend Justin Bieber on her new album.

Last week, Selena shared a dark Instagram photo of herself, topless in a shower with the caption, “Ready.. #itscomingsoon.”

So far, so mysterious. A day later Justin also rolled out a photo taken in a shower or steam room, which prompted rumors that the former couple may be collaborating on a project.

Unlikely? Perhaps, but not improbable.

One thing was clear from Selena’s darkly lit shower reveal. It told fans to expect something emotional and dramatic.

That was subsequently confirmed by the starlet’s vocal coach, Steve Mackie. Speaking to Hollywood Life, he said that Selena’s new album will be full of songs about Justin Bieber.

“She doesn’t mention him directly,” Mackie told the site, which — for once — cites a real and named source, after Bieber recently, and rightly, called it out for false reporting. “But one could deduce that she is [singing about him].”

Mackie added, “Most artists sing about their present or past relationships in their music. Selena’s no different.” The vocal coach also said the album would feature a much “more adult” and “feminine” sound from the triple threat.

Selena Gomez fans already got a taste of their idol’s view of her on-again, off-again four-year romance with Justin, on her emotive single “The Heart Wants What It Wants.”

Now, an in-depth look inside the anatomy of Jelena is on its way. It’s worth stating it will be from Selena’s perspective and that both Justin and Selena were essentially children when their relationship began.

The new music and video hints didn’t stop. Four days after the shower pic teaser, Selena took to Twitter to roll out video stills and the June 22 release date of her upcoming single “Good For You.”

“‘Good For You.’ June 22. Now who would like the first look of my new music video?” She wrote, alongside the shot below.

The starlet posted two video stills on Instagram. One shows Selena lying on the floor and was captioned with the same tweeted note.

The next reveal wasn’t captioned and depicted the songstress in a seemingly more jubilant mood.

Gomez then promised her fans she was only just getting started.

Earlier this month, the starlet posted an Instagram alluding to a false story posted by Life & Style.

The tabloid magazine alleged Gomez was struggling to move on from Bieber, partying too hard, drinking too much alcohol, and was being forced into rehab. Like many of the stories the tabloid has churned out about Justin and other celebrities over the years, the story was fabricated.

In her related Instagram, alongside a photo and the words “I want to claim my own name,” Selena wrote a lengthy message.

“Sometimes I get frustrated when I hear lies about who I am. The Internet is meant to keep you “updated” but it just takes old news and freezes it like it’s now.”

“You have watched me in pain and I’ve owned up to it through my music and actions. I grew up with you. I am beyond excited to show you the next chapter, the TRUTH. I’ve been keeping so many secrets… I’m reborn in every moment so who knows what I’ll become.. As long as I’m happy with me. #strongisbeautiful #healthyperspectiveonthemfools,” she added.

On Sunday, Selena took to Twitter to prepare her 29.8 million followers fans for her big announcement. A visual taken at what appeared to be a photo shoot was included in the tweet. It was also posted at the starlet’s Instagram.

And here it is. Selena has partnered with Pantene.

A short video followed showing a Pantene hairstylist working on Selena’s gorgeous hair. The hashtag #Pantene began trending worldwide on Twitter within minutes of the reveal.
