As One Direction continue on with their On the Road Again tour, they recently opened up about what it’s like not to have former bandmate Zayn Malik touring with them. They also offered hints at a few surprises for fans.
Rolling Ston e reports that, as the band treks on, they can feel the loss of their former mate. Yet, they won’t let that stop them from giving the fans a great show. Niall Horan, 21, states that although they miss Malik , their fans have carried them and kept their hopes alive.
“We all miss having one of our best mates around, obviously. We’re still going onstage every night and having the best time of our lives with our incredible fans, so from that point of view, nothing has changed.”
One Direction has a few surprises in store for those who haven’t seen their latest show yet. In addition to adding new dance moves, Horan indicates that the new surprises are more so with new songs that they haven’t had the opportunity to perform live yet.
“We have a few surprises. Most importantly, we will be rehearsing new songs which we are very excited to perform live for the first time.”
Meanwhile, rumors continue to surface regarding Malik and his fiancee, Perrie Edwards, of the British girl band, Little Mix. Although the speculations of the duo getting married seem to never end, Billboard reports that it isn’t true .
The marriage speculations sparked yet up again after several of the band mates in Little Mix began combining their last name with other names on Twitter. However, according to a rep. for the group, it was all in innocent fun.
“The three girls in the group with boyfriends say their first name and their boyfriend’s last name and Jade says ‘I’m Jade’ with no last name because she doesn’t have a boyfriend. They were teasing her. Nothing more.”
One Direction is currently in the midst of their OTRA tour in Europe. The boys come to North America starting July 9, when they perform at San Diego’s Qualcomm Stadium. The tour continues throughout August 9, where they’ll perform their final North American concert at Boston’s Gillette Stadium.
As for other surprises in store, One Direction indicates that fans who attend a show are in for a great night. Horan states that along with new things in the lineup, fans will still enjoy “the usual One Direction madness onstage.”
