Ellie Goulding Stunning No Make-Up Selfie Bites Back At Instagram Trolls

Bulletproof Ellie Goulding has been treating her body better than ever recently. Yesterday, the star reached out to fans via Instagram, releasing a stunning no make-up selfie into the airwaves. The photo, Ellie explains, demonstrates just how great she has been looking and feeling after taking a “make up and alcohol free week.”

Fans and followers have been quick to offer support to Goulding over the selfie, as she takes steps to improve her relationship with her body. Ellie explains over her selfie how she has spent a great deal of time working on her music in the studio with music producer and songwriter, Diplo. However, despite her busy work schedule, Goulding has still found the time to fit in working out and even juicing!

The self appreciative post from British singer-songwriter Goulding is a refreshing buzz as the star opened up to Elle last week, discussing how struggles with her appearance and self-esteem had plagued her since childhood.

In an all too relatable interview for many, Ellie explained “I was never confident in my looks. I hated my chin, my nose, my eyebrows.”

“I had panic attacks so bad I couldn’t leave my flat; I couldn’t bear people looking at me. I would worry that I would never be able to sing because I couldn’t even get up. I was also horribly ashamed of myself because I felt like some sort of drama queen and all I wanted to be was strong.”

Ellie used the platform to discuss how over the years she has grown to love herself, and form a strong sense of identity — as evidenced by her glowing selfie and self-confidence. Goulding spoke about her friendship with artist Taylor Swift, whom she recently introduced to Calvin Harris, allowed her to vent about her frustrations with media invasion of her personal and love life.

“It’s something I’ve talked about with Taylor a lot. She gets bothered by it,” Ellie explained during the interview. “It’s like, you can be a great artist, you can write great songs, but the thing that everyone is going to talk about is some relationship they think you have had or not had.”

“It’s definitely something we both think happens to female artists over male artists.”

But now, Ellie is 100 percent done with letting other people rule how she sees herself. In a series of tweets, Goulding lashed out against those using her bare-face selfie as an opportunity to hate. Going on to encourage girls that may have felt just like her in the past to let themselves go for it, and post make-up free selfies loving themselves — just like she did!
