Lea Black has weighed in on her fellow Real Housewives star’s recent arrest and stint in not one, but three, rehab facilities. On the same day that Kim Richards entered rehab number three, Lea Black, formerly of The Real Housewives of Miami , spoke to Perez Hilton , revealing Richards would likely benefit from time away from the cameras .
“I feel for her because [addiction] is a very difficult disease. And people fight it for years. And I think she has a good heart. She’s a good girl.”
Lea Black’s fellow housewife, Richards, was arrested at the Beverly Hills Hotel on April 16, after suffering an alcohol relapse months prior. Since the incident, Richards reportedly suffered a second slip-up in Mexico after attending her daughter Brooke Brinson’s second wedding to Thayer Weiderhorn.
Throughout her troubles, Richards has entered rehab three times. The first came after her interview with Dr. Phil, during which she spoke candidly about her relapse and was confronted by her children, including son Chad and daughter Kimberly, about entering treatment. Although she was expected to return to rehab after Brinson’s wedding, she failed to meet the deadline and was forced to enter a different treatment once she returned to Los Angles.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Lea Black’s fellow Real Housewives star’s second rehab facility, which was reportedly located in Pacific Palisades, California, specialized in mental issues , rather than issues of addiction. According to Radar Online , Richards “checked into a treatment center specializing in psychological disorders” earlier this month . Then, just days later, Richards reportedly checked into a rehab facility in Malibu, California, although that has yet to be confirmed.
Continuing on in her interview with Perez Hilton , Lea Black explained that the reality star may be experiencing unnecessary stress from her role on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and could be better off without her Bravo relationship.
“Reality TV is stressful. Maybe a little time out will be good for her. On the other hand, I’m sure it’s a great income source for her. So you know, I feel bad for her. When you’re on that show, everyone’s looking for that ‘A-ha, caught you’ moment. And if they don’t find it, they’ll make it up. So, it’s a challenge.”
Richards has reportedly been fired by Bravo, but again, the issues have yet to be confirmed.
