The Witcher 2 Video Compares Xbox 360, PC Versions

It goes without saying that The Witcher 2 won’t look quite the same as the PC version when it’s released on Xbox 360 later this month, but that doesn’t mean the developers had to sacrifice too much eyecandy to get the game running on a console.

GameSpot uploaded a video today that shows off the graphical differences between the two versions, with both Medium and High PC presets shown for comparison. While it looks great on the Xbox 360, there are, of course, some differences.

The most noticeable change in The Witcher 2‘s transition to consoles is that the lighting appears to be quite different. Just about every scene sampled in the video shows significantly different lighting on the Xbox 360, but not necessarily for the worse.

In some scenes that are dark on the PC version of The Witcher 2, for example, things might be brightened up a bit on the Xbox 360. Some things are made darker as well–overall, the lighting system seems to be built with the Xbox 360 in mind.

The video’s not much to go by, granted, so we’ll have to wait until we get our hands on The Witcher 2 to find out just how well it stands up to its PC counterpart. If the video’s any indication, however, Xbox 360 gamers won’t be disappointed.
