Blake Shelton Will Return To ‘The Voice’ For Season 9

Blake Shelton will once again be returning to The Voice as a coach for season 9.

On Wednesday, the NBC singing competition announced the exciting news, via Twitter, that Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Pharrell Williams, and Gwen Stefani would be serving as this season’s coaches.

Levine and Shelton have served as coaches since the very first season, while Stefani and Williams didn’t join the competition until season 7. Gwen was originally brought in to replace Christina Aguilera and Pharrell to replace Cee Lo Green.

“I’m coming back and am so excited!” Stefani said in a statement, according to Buzzfeed. “It’s so inspiring to be around such incredible talent and music. I’m looking forward to working again with Adam, Blake and Pharrell. I love those guys.”

“Adam, Gwen, Pharrell and I had a blast together in Season 7 and I’m excited we’re back together again,” Shelton added. “They are all so talented but I’m pretty damn excited about another winning season for Team Blake.”

“I can’t believe we’re already on the ninth season,” Levine said. “Time after time, coming back, it honestly feels like the first day of school. It’s become a second family for me and I’m always so excited to come back to it.”

“I am grateful to have a role on the show amongst such an incredible grouping of great people. Looking forward to another season of talented artists,” Williams added.

Team Blake is currently leading in wins with a total of four. Levine is in a close second with two wins, and Pharrell landed his first win last season with contestant Sawyer Fredericks.

Carson Daly will also be returning as the host for The Voice, which will premiere its ninth season in September.
