Ashlee Simpson had the shower of her dreams, thanks to sister Jessica Simpson and mom Tina. Rather than a formal affair, Ashlee’s shower resembled a party created with love, reported People .
Pink was the hue of the day because Ashlee already knows that she and her husband Evan Ross are anticipating a daughter. More than 60 people attended the event at Jessica’s home.
“It was beautiful weather and her house was the perfect setting … so gorgeous,” said one person who helped celebrate the upcoming arrival.
Although most baby shower guests anticipate the inevitable baby-focused games with a mixture of dread (anyone for tasting baby food and guessing at what it’s supposed to resemble?) and delight (some baby shower games include cool prizes), the party-goer also revealed that games weren’t the focus.
“It was very chill and almost like just a get-together than a traditional shower. It wasn’t focused on games [and was] more like a big party.”
And Jessica had more than Ashlee’s baby bump to celebrate. In addition, their mother Tina is engaged.
“Everyone was talking about Tina’s engagement and about her ring. She seems really happy,” added the insider.
Now that she’s had the shower, Ashlee is all ready for her second baby. But even though she’s been through it before with her 6-year-old son, Bronx Mowgli, whose father is Pete Wentz, Simpson feels just as excited.
“I’m like, ‘Here we go! We gotta learn how to swaddle again!’ ” she laughed.
As for Tina Simpson , she’s energized by her romance and upcoming nuptials with her landscaper boyfriend, reported Us Weekly .
Jon Goldstein, owner of Johnny Appleseed Landscaping, first appeared in publicized photos with Tina at Jessica’s wedding in 2014. But despite that, they’ve been friends for years, according to one of Goldstein’s friends.
“He’s a really nice guy,” emphasized one of Jon’s pals. “He’s always cared about Tina … He’s known them for 15 years and has been a part of their family. He’s so happy she said yes! I know he had been planning on asking her for a while.”
Although Tina and Joe Simpson were married for 34 years, Ashlee and Jessica are happy for their mother and her new love, according to a source.
“They’re happy that their mom is happy.”
While Tina has her engagement to keep her energized and Ashlee is excited about her second baby, Jessica Simpson is keeping the romance alive in her own marriage with regular date nights, as the Inquisitr reported.
But even on date nights, she and husband Eric Johnson can’t resist doting on their adorable children.
“Date night with my hubby looking at pictures of our kiddos. These 2 are perfect. Crazy individual people we are so proud of,” she shared recently.
