Roloff Divorce: Amy & Matt Roloff Announce Divorce After 27 Years Of Marriage

Matt and Amy Roloff have filed for divorce after 27 years of marriage.

According to CNN, Matt and Amy Roloff from TLC’s Little People, Big World, announced their separation in 2014. While their fans were hoping that the two would world things out and have some good news this year, the couple has decided to officially part ways instead.

They recently released a joint statement on TLC’s website announcing the news.

“It is with great sadness that we have come to the difficult decision to file for divorce. We are proud of what we have accomplished together including raising four wonderful children who have grown to become remarkable adults and building our strong and ongoing successful businesses. Our kids and our ever-growing family, and the love and support we have for them, will be our priority. We will continue to work together side by side in the daily responsibilities for our many current ventures. We would like to thank our family, friends and all our fans for their continued support and understanding during this difficult time.”

The Roloff divorce is undeniably sad, especially for people who know Matt and Amy, and who have followed their family over the past eight years or so (their show started in 2006). According to The Hollywood Gossip, the two had some difficulties living together, many of which weren’t really flushed out on their reality show. Last year, Matt decided to move out of the couple’s home and stayed in their guest house. Matt previously said that he just “never felt at home in his own home.”

Amy says that she and Matt never really “learned to live together.” While Amy admitted that this wasn’t her choice, the two seem to realize that they are both happier while living apart. However, as evidenced in the photo above (posted by Amy on May 30), the two still get along and they seem friendly, which is the best people can hope for after divorce.

The Roloff divorce does not mean the end of Little People, Big World, however. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, it appears as though the family is still filming for the show, despite their life changes. A recent post by Matt on Facebook basically confirmed that new episodes of the show are coming.

“We’re off from filming this coming week… after an intense run last several weeks… Now to catch up on normal life and get some farming done.”

Are you a fan of Little People, Big World? Will you continue to watch the show even though Amy and Matt have officially split?
