Jennifer Lopez wore $25 pants on the red carpet a week ago, and people are still talking about the fashion choice. According to Us Magazine, Lopez was at an event in Morocco on May 28, and it was her pants that started people talking afterward. It was quickly discovered that her pants were only $25, and they are sold at clothing retailer Forever 21.
Lopez at the Festival Mawazine Rythmes du Monde in Rabat, Morocco, and Us Magazine shared the details of her look as a “long-sleeved, completely sheer lace top, whisper-pink bra, and ankle-strap heels with the ultra-femme ‘pleated gaucho pants.'”
Lopez attended the festival and performed on stage later that night. However, her performance is causing some controversy. While many that attended the concert last week enjoyed Lopez’s performance on-stage, officials considered her performance inappropriate. It was broadcast on national television live, and that is a big part of the problem.
In fact, some officials are asking for the resignation of the Minister of Communication Mustapha Khalfi. He has said he will not resign, according to BBC. However, he did speak out about the Jennifer Lopez concert on Twitter.
“What was broadcast is unacceptable and goes against broadcasting law.”
What is causing the issue?
During her performance, Lopez was “scantily dressed” and moved suggestively on stage. The media shared footage of her concert, and the performance was toned down, by request, by Lopez. Her performance would be considered tame and normal by American audiences, but she was not performing the United States. You can judge for yourself with video of some of her performance below.
At age 45, Lopez is not hiding her looks. She knows she is beautiful, and she shows it off. On stage in Morocco, she wore an outfit that some might call a one-piece bathing suit. On the red carpet, she wore the less revealing outfit that included the $25 pants from Forever 21.

According to a previous Inquisitr report, the singer spoke about her body in a recent issue of Us Weekly.
“I embrace who I am. I feel sexy, I feel youthful, I feel pretty sometimes, sometimes I feel not pretty, you know what I mean? I think a healthy body image comes from being the best you, not competing with anybody else. You know, I’m not a 6-foot tall model… I’m not a size 2. I think it’s about focusing on yourself and just trying to be the best you.”
What is next for Lopez? Fans will see her back on the small screen during the 2015-2016 television season. She is starring in Shades of Blue for NBC, and her character, Harlee Santos, is a crooked cop.
People Magazine shared some of Lopez’s comments about the new cop drama.
“We know that certain things are wrong. But in certain situations, doing the wrong thing is the right thing. It’s about that internal struggle that every single person has. [The love she has for her daughter] doesn’t let her get so lost in the world that she can’t ever find her way back to something real and good.”
Fans of Lopez have seen her as a judge on American Idol on Fox, but that series will end its run on the network after its upcoming season.
