Homeless Man Stabs Teen In Pennsylvania Target, Two Men Jump In To Save Her [Video]

A deranged homeless man entered a Target in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on March 25, 2013. He grabbed an unsuspecting 16-year-old girl from the checkout lane and held a knife to her neck. The girl’s mother looked on in horror as the deranged man, Leon Walls, 44, threatened to stab the teen. As Walls held the girl captive, another man was plotting a rescue from behind. The man ran down the aisle and jumped over the cash register onto Walls as the man began to stab the young girl. A second man then joined in and helped subdue the homeless man until police could arrive. The entire ordeal was captured on the Target surveillance cameras and were entered into court evidence on Wednesday as Wells stands trial for attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and recklessly endangering another person.

The startling surveillance video was entered into court record on Wednesday by the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office. In the video, you can see the homeless man grab 16-year-old Allison Meadows as she stands near her mother in the checkout lane. The man then puts a knife to her throat and tells everyone to stand back or he will stab the girl. As the situation continues, there is a man behind Walls that is planning an attack. The man jumped over the register counter and lands on Walls. However, the homeless man is able to get up and grab the teen and began repeatedly stabbing her in the back. The mother jumps into action and begins trying to pull her bleeding daughter away from the man to no avail.

Fortunately, two good Samaritans, Mike Turner and Roland Smith, jumped in and tackled the man. They then pulled him away from the bleeding girl until police could arrive.
