‘Destiny’ Update Drops More Treasure Keys, Fixes Ammo Synth And Other Issues

The House of Wolves expansion for Destiny received its first patch on Tuesday to correct a number of issues that PlayStation and Xbox players have been experiencing. Bungie released the new 1.2.0.2 update to all four consoles, which adds some quality of life improvements like increased Treasure Key drops and fixes some bugs in Prison of Elders and elsewhere in the shooter.

A lack of Treasure Keys dropping for players has been an issue for players since House of Wolves was released two weeks ago. As previously mentioned, one user’s experience is that out of approximately three dozen Ether Chests opened, only one Treasure Key dropped.

That changes with the release of the Destiny 1.2.0.2 update, as players are now guaranteed at least one key per character that completes a Wanted Fallen Bounty. Additionally, the drop rate of Treasure Keys from Ether Chests (Guide) and Small Chests have been increased.

There is a flip side to the Treasure Key drop rate being improved for Ether Chests, though. Bungie has fixed the exploit that allowed Destiny players to open the Ether Chest, exit the zone, and re-enter the zone to open the Ether Chest again. The chest can only be opened once per spawn now.

Players frustrated by Qodron in the Prison of Elders will be happy to know that he’s received some balance fixes. The damage done by the detainment fields he puts up around players has been reduced by 25 percent, while the Jailbreaker buff has been increased by 100 percent. This comes at a good time, as this boss is part of the level 32 run for Prison of Elders this week.

Those concerned about ammo synths taking up inventory space should celebrate with this patch. The amount of synths that can be stacked has been increased from 20 to 100 with the Destiny 1.2.0.2 update. Meanwhile, all of those Tokens of Flight, Identity, and Judgment that you have been collecting can now be dismantled to give 10 reputation points towards House of Judgement.

Destiny received another solid patch from Bunge, all in all, that addresses many of players concerns since the release of The House of Wolves. Yes, there are issues still lingering, but the developer will have between now and the release of the Comet expansion this fall to address those.
