Watch live Major League Baseball online for free Sunday when the Los Angeles Dodgers face their longtime rivals, the St. Louis Cardinals, at Busch Stadium in the rubber game of a three-game set between the leaders of the National League West and Central Divisions. But the game will have special significance for St. Louis, as they honor tragically departed prospect Oscar Tavares.

Taveras, 22, was a highly touted rookie outfielder with the Cardinals last season who was killed while driving with a blood alcohol level almost six times the legal limit in his native Dominican Republic on October 26 of 2014. The crash also killed Taveras’s girlfriend, Edilia Arvelo.
The Cardinals have chosen to declare today, May 31 — the one-year anniversary of Taveras’s Major League debut — “Oscar Taveras Day” at Busch Stadium. And the Cardinal’s pitcher in Sunday’s game against visiting Los Angeles will be 23-year-old Carlos Martinez — who was not only boyhood friends with Taveras, but his best friend in the Cardinals’ organization.
Martinez comes into the game at 4-2 with a 3.54 ERA and 56 strikeouts in just 53 and a third innings over 10 games this season.
Taking the hill for the Dodgers will be 27-year-old journeyman Brett Anderson, who, in 101 Major League appearances, including 90 starts, has never faced the St. Louis Cardinals. Anderson, a second round draft pick of the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2006, was traded to Oakland in 2007 and spent his first five seasons with the A’s in the American League.
On Friday, the Cardinals — who boast baseball’s best record at 32-17 — won their fifth in a row, blanking Los Angeles 3-0 behind a nine-strikeout performance by righty John Lackey. But on Saturday, the Dodgers stopped the Cardinals streak with a 5-1 win, propelled by Yasmani Grandal’s three-run blast in the sixth after Cardinals starter Michael Wacha held them hitless through the first five frames.
The Dodgers lead the National League West with a 29-19 record, just a half-game in front of the San Francisco Giants.
