Bob Saget: ‘Fuller House’ Adds Danny Tanner To Cast

Bob Saget is returning for Fuller House. Saget played Danny Tanner, the head of the household and father to three girls on the hit 1990’s show Full House. Now the actor will return for the sequel series, which will follow his oldest daughter, DJ Tanner-Fuller, played by Candace Cameron-Bure, and middle daughter Stephanie, played by Jodie Sweetin, as they raise DJ’s children in the wake of her husband’s death.

According to the Daily Mail, it was John Stamos, who is helping behind the scenes of the show, who confirmed that Bob Saget was coming back for Fuller House.

“Last but not least-best piece of casting yet. The great @bobsaget will be joining our show on @netfilx – this completes the perfect [reunion]!”

However, it isn’t quite the “perfect” reunion for the Full House stars. E! Online reports that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who shared the role of Michelle Tanner on the series, will not be back. The twins declined to return for a cast reunion although the rest of the family characters including Uncle Jesse, Joey, Danny, DJ, Stephanie, and Aunt Becky will all be there. Mary-Kate and Ashley’s snub of Fuller House made some fans furious as it was that show that gave them a career.

Upon hearing the news, John Stamos revealed via Twitter that he was “heartbroken,” and it looks like the entire Tanner family except Michelle will be a part of the reunion and spin-off series. Meanwhile, Lori Loughlin, who played Becky on the show, said all they really need is just one of the twins, or even their younger sister, Elizabeth Olsen, who looks enough like her big sisters that she could possibly play Michelle as an adult. However, fans are doubting that Elizabeth will take on the role after her sisters turned down the reunion.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Lori Loughlin has been very vocal on the fact that she didn’t think the Olsen twins would want to return. Recently, before it was announced that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen would not be returning for Fuller House with Bob Saget and the rest of the cast, Lori revealed that it wasn’t about the money for the twins.

“It doesn’t matter how much money they get paid, they don’t care. I honestly don’t know if they want to do it.”

While it will be great to see the entire cast back together again, there will definitely be something missing without the Olsen twins.
