Los Angeles Lakers Rumors: Dwyane Wade, Kevin Love To Opt Out, Head To Lakers In Free Agency?

Los Angeles Lakers rumors link the team to Dwyane Wade and Kevin Love now. There are a lot of Lakers rumors out there, but fans seeing Wade and Love mentioned in the same sentence have to be excited about what the NBA offseason might hold. As previously reported on the Inquisitr, Wade wants a raise from the Miami Heat and is now posing threats about opting out if he doesn’t receive one. It puts the Heat into a tough position as an organization, while at the same time breathing life into rumors that he could play for a new team.

Now, Lakers Nation is reporting that if Wade were to leave the Heat, that the only team he would go play for is the Los Angeles Lakers. Teaming Wade up with Kobe Bryant would certainly be a formidable duo at the shooting guard and small forward positions. It would also create a situation where NBA analysts could joke about the age of that duo and how their best days might already be behind them. He will be 34-years-old next season, but Wade might still bring a lot to the table, including a championship pedigree that would work well with Bryant.

Further north, CBS Sports has reported that Kevin Love is set to opt out of his deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers in order to explore free agency. The best fit for Love, outside of re-signing with LeBron James and the Cavaliers, has been suggest to either be the Los Angeles Lakers or Boston Celtics. Both franchises have the money to offer Love a max-deal in free agency, but the Lakers seem to have the ability to put more talent around him. With Julius Randle, the No. 2 pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, and Kobe Bryant already on the roster, Love could provide the team with even more depth.

A lot would have to happen for these Lakers rumors to actually play out, suggesting that the plausibility of both Kevin Love and Dwyane Wade signing in Los Angeles is not very high. If there is a city that has a history of luring big-name free agents, though, it would certainly be this one. Seeing Wade and Love play at Staples Center could be an exciting experience, but could Bryant actually start sliding into being a role player? He might need to if the goal is still to get back to another NBA Finals before he heads into retirement.

There are going to be a lot of Los Angeles Lakers rumors as the NBA offseason progresses, so it’s no surprise that Dwyane Wade and Kevin Love have now entered the picture. Expect the trade chatter to also increase as the NBA Draft approaches this summer.
