Chris Soules And Whitney Bischoff Split: ‘Bachelor’ Couple Is ‘No Longer Engaged’ [Updated]
There is some seemingly disheartening news out for Bachelor fans regarding the engagement of Chris Soules and Whitney Bischoff. There have been break-up rumors swirling about the pair for a bit now, and show creator Mike Fleiss just added a lot of fuel to the fire. From the sounds of his latest tweet, Chris and Whitney are no longer engaged, and most would imagine that confirms they’ve officially split.
Though Fleiss had very recently tweeted a tease about possible wedding plans for Chris Soules and Whitney Bischoff, buzz had been building rapidly that the Bachelor couple was headed toward a split. Reality Steve recently indicated that he expected a break-up announcement to come at some point before the finale of Kaitlyn Bristowe’s Bachelorette season on July 27.
Though Bachelor fans will have to wait for more specifics — surely something is coming soon — Fleiss seems to have taken the reins to break the bad news. While many hope there’s good news to follow the sad news, or that he’s just pranking show fans, right now it seems the two may have split.
Mike Fleiss tweeted, “Sad news to report: @souleschris and @whitbisch are no longer engaged.”
It took only a few minutes for Reality Steve to retweet the post and simply add, “Surprise surprise surprise.” While Reality Steve was able to beat Fleiss and the media to the punch with some prior break-ups, like those between Andi Dorfman and Josh Murray as well as the split between Emily Maynard and Jef Holm a few seasons back, this time it seems the official word came out from Fleiss first.
As much as Bachelor fans had been rooting for Chris and Whitney to wed and make babies, it didn’t take long after the finale for things to seemingly start to falter. Many will surely place blame on Soules’ decision to partner with Witney Carson and tackle Dancing with the Stars, and late in the season is when Chris and Whitney’s relationship did seem to crack.
Will Chris and Whitney release a formal statement via People or another outlet, or will they address Fleiss’ tweet via their own social media pages? Fellow Bachelorette contestant Cody Sattler had just shared a social media post about watching the show with Chris and Whitney as they snuggled, but many had a feeling things simply weren’t in a great place with the couple.
Is it really over for Bachelor stars Chris Soules and Whitney Bischoff so soon after their season ended? For now, fans will have to stay tuned and see if Fleiss shares anything more, or if a formal announcement is released from Chris and Whitney themselves.
Updated: Unfortunately for fans, the official confirmation regarding Chris and Whitney’s split is out, and it comes via Us Weekly. Chris Soules and Whitney Bischoff confirm that they have broken up, and they say that the split is mutual and amicable. Will fans learn anything more from here? Everybody will have to stay tuned for now.
