Is Ellie Goulding A Cheater?

Things may be going well for Ellie Goulding and her beau of over a year, Dougie Poynter, but does Ellie Goulding have a history of cheating?

According to E!, “Thinking Out Loud” singer, Ed Sheeran, “did fess up that he and Goulding were dating during the MTV Video Music Awards” in 2013. But not for long. So what went wrong? Listen to Sheeran’s song “Don’t” just to find out.

E! has stated that Sheeran’s hit song “was about Ellie Goulding cheating on him with One Direction’s Niall Horan.”

Some of the lyrics from “Don’t” include, “But you didn’t need to to take him to bed, that’s all. And I never saw him as a threat, Until you disappeared with him to have sex of course.”

So, what does Sheeran have to say about admitting that Goulding cheated on him?

According to Entertainment Weekly, while reports have come out that he did confirm “Don’t” is about Goulding, Ed says it simply isn’t true.

“I never let it slip. What happened was one of the newspapers in England just printed that it was confirmed when it never was. We got in touch, and they took the story down. But obviously the damage had already been done by that point because every other newspaper picked up on it,” said Ed.

He went on further to say, “So I never actually confirmed it.”

And while he never actually confirmed that Goulding cheated on him, he hasn’t denied it either.

Ed talked about the reason behind the anger fueled song.

“I had to be as honest as possible in that song because otherwise what’s the f*****g point? There’d be no anger or pain in that song if it was just very sweet and nice. The whole reason people connected to it was because everyone’s been that angry at one point, everyone’s hated their partner or spouse like, ‘Don’t f*** with this.’ For me, it needed to be done. It didn’t necessarily have to go on the album, but it definitely needed to be written.”

So, is he holding a grudge against his possibly-cheating ex, Goulding?

Of course not. Sheeran partied with Horan after the Billboard Music Awards and he has been pictured with Goulding at prior events also.

While her ex will neither confirm nor deny it, it has left many asking if Ellie Goulding is a cheater.
