The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kim Richards is reportedly hiding out in Mexico following an alleged relapse at daughter Brooke Brinson’s wedding. On May 26, Popdust reported Richards was a “drunken mess” at Brinson’s nuptials after allegedly drinking or using drugs in secret — and not just that. Days after the ceremony and days after her deadline to return to rehab, the Real Housewives star is reportedly MIA.
“Richards failed to return back to rehab Monday, and is currently still hiding out in Cabo, incommunicado.”
The Real Housewives star entered treatment at the end of last month, following a dramatic arrest at the Beverly Hills Hotel. After drinking vodka at Brinson’s home in Los Angeles, Richards drove to the hotel where she had a few more cocktails before being cut off by the Polo Lounge bartender. After requesting more alcohol and being turned down, the Real Housewives star reportedly became irate, and proceeded to disrupt other guests. Once security was called, Richards was asked to leave, and after she refused, police arrived on scene to remove her.
Richards was charged with public intoxication, resisting an officer, and battery on an officer, and will appear in court on June 11 to address the charges.
Although the Real Housewives star appeared to be ready to get help during an appearance on Dr. Phil in the days that followed her arrest, she now seems less enthused about getting sober.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Richards arrived in Mexico last week to attend Brinson’s wedding, and while she was had a sober coach by her side , things quickly took a turn for the worse. As TMZ reported, the Real Housewives was thought to be intoxicated by fellow guests at her daughter’s wedding, and began feuding with the groom’s family during the ceremony.
A previous report by Radar Online hinted the Real Housewives star may not have been truly ready to get clean ahead of the wedding.
“The facility doesn’t want to send a staffer to Mexico with Kim for Brooke’s wedding next weekend. Kim just isn’t ready to be out in the world yet. But she is refusing to listen to any of the advice. Kim said if the rehab won’t send a staffer, she will just leave. Members of Kim’s treatment team want her to stay in rehab for 90 days, but she is balking.”
“Kim is living in her own world, and hasn’t surrendered to the fact that she needs help.”
Kim Richards’ future with The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has yet to be confirmed.
