There are plenty of rumors flying around in the wrestling world right now, and that is especially true for WWE and NXT. With Elimination Chamber right around the corner, some surprises may be in store while one star in NXT is gone for months and Brock Lesnar is on his way back soon.
Sami Zayn having surgery and will be out for months
NXT is dealing with a lot of injuries lately, and they’re all to big-name stars. Hideo Itami is already out for months due to surgery, and now it appears as if Sami Zayn is going to be out for at least the same amount of time.
According to WrestleZone, Zayn has been dealing with a shoulder injury since showing up on Raw for his match with John Cena, and that only made it worse. Then, he got written off at NXT Takeover: Unstoppable so he can have time to heal up.
Zayn is likely to schedule shoulder surgery soon and a timetable wasn’t announced for his return, but don’t expect him back until sometime in the fall or winter.
Samoa Joe may make his WWE main roster debut at Elimination Chamber
Cageside Seats is reporting that a “big surprise” is in the works for Elimination Chamber this Sunday, but no word as to what it may be. The event already has a pretty stacked card, and one of the rumors making the rounds on social media is Samoa Joe appearing to interfere in the match between John Cena and Kevin Owens.
Did WWE’s slip-up change Brock Lesnar’s return date?
This past weekend, WWE had a major website slip-up that may have given away the return date of the July 20th Raw for Brock Lesnar’s return. Now, WWE hates leaks onto the Internet and could try to change things up so it’s still a surprise.
A source tells Inquisitr that Brock Lesnar is still scheduled to make his return at Raw on July 20. There is a small chance though, that he will show up at Battleground the night before to get a program started for SummerSlam.
What’s in store for Lana’s future?
Both Lana and Rusev are being pulled away from the whole Russian gimmick, and WWE isn’t giving much of a reason for it either. They played the angle where Rusev spoke in Bulgarian to say he gave up, and he was even first introduced in WWE as the “Bulgarian Brute.”
Rusev’s new TitanTron video even takes out all mentions of Russia. As for Lana? She has already pulled the face turn and aligned herself with Dolph Ziggler, but some believe it could all be a ruse to pull him in and turn on him so Rusev can beat him.
These are just some of the rumors floating around right now in WWE and NXT. Sure, none of them may end up coming true, but there’s also a good chance that we could be looking at what’s in store for Samoa Joe, Lana, Brock Lesnar, Elimination Chamber, and Sami Zayn.
